Nine

Title: The title Minim I went for as it is directly linked to music. The bright yellow and purple was what I would keep in all of the pages of the magazine. I choose yellow becuase it is a bright colour and spiring being the start of sunny weather. Aslo the yellow is not hidden in the photo it is kept bold, so audience know the magazine. (unlike 'Glamour' who cover their title as they are confindent in thier own name). I have choosen a Marker Felt font as it is fun and light hearted, like the magazine.
Front Cover Photo: I have chosen this to be my front cover photo as 'LITTLE d' himself is shy, and is not a fan of being famous. This is told in the interview. Also the mix of a blue background leaves space for written. Also I like the deph of field in the hand and looking down the the guitar, making the image seem to come out of the page. What the fornt cover photo lacks is photo shop. Around the hand the flsh of the camera ruins the rest of the photo.
Front Cover Layout: The front cover on a whole is not very good. Unlike other magazine it only tells you two things that are inside it. It lacks content and a bar code. Also the 'LILTTLE d' use to be red and blue, but the mac did not allow it to print, so it had to be changed.
Contents Page: The contents pagae is ok, but for does not look like a magazine contents. It lacks layout and looks like a list. Im am also having second thoughts on the three images of LITTLE d as the audience knows that he is the focus as he is on the front cover, these pictures are unneeded, and could be replaced with others like ones related to some of the titles said in the list.
Contents Layout: I have kept the background plain on the contents page as tis makes it easy to see the writting. Also I have split featers and so on with lines as this is done in most magazines. I have kept to the yellow and purple rhyme, and kept the three photos to on side. For the photos i have tried to give it a droped effect as if someone has just dropped them on the page, this is to keep with the light hearted theme.
DPS Content: For my double page spread I have it full of questions that the audience has sent in. I have done this to give the audience a sence of beloging. Also it mentions who sent them in and the answeres. This reinforces the sence of belonging.
Contents Pictures: I originly choose the pictures to reinforce the idea that the focus is LITTLE d but now that idea is not needed. The picure themselves are black and white, because their are ment to look like the old cameras when you take the picture you have a photo straight away. But doing this has no real focus or reason making it confusing in way it is done. Instead I should have picures of what is mentioned in the contents.
DPS Picture: The picture on the dps is out of focus also the yellow writting is not that clear to see. I have made the picture black and white but I should of worked into it more like put the contrast up a little.
DPS Layout: For the layout i have tried to keep most of the writting of the hand and guitar as the picture is the most important. Also i have split the writting in three parts to help not cover the picture and easy to handle. If the writting was all over the place you would not know were to start, so spliting it into three parts help the audience read.

Audience feedback

I have shown a few people my magazine, and saddly it has been shot down. Almost all of the people i have asked say that the magazine will not be seen on the rack of a shop. They say it looks too different and does not look like any normal music magazine. This is what i set out to do, i want to make a completely new kind of magazine. But instead i found that most people don't like change and want the same kind and look of magazines. But they did like some asbects of my work like: the blakck and white photos on the contents page and the yellow and purple mix also caught their eye. They said to improve that i should keep to normal magazines we see today and not try to change or make a whole new kind of magazine, but only to change a little.

Evaluation: Audience

The audience was meant to be teenagers 13-20, people described as 'dozers or 'care free' like myself. But to conclude i have found my magazine is not fit for this audience. My magazine was hardly a successes, i have not spend enough time editing the photos, taking photos, working on the writing, researching both other magazines and my audience. My audience in detail was going to be people wanting or ready for change, i wanted to create a new kind of magazine offering self esteem and other needs. But this has not work. My audience don't like the magazine it looks tacky and the colours don't fit the genre of the magazine. Also the photograph lacks effects and adds the unfinished touch. They will be into rock, games and doing what they feel like. They may be unemployed, still in education, higher education (university or college), or part/full time employed. This means in the A,B,C ranking they dont realy fit. Their favourite TV shows would be generally comedies (such as 'Friends' and 'Mock the Week'. Meaning the main focus would be males, as it is about what boys typicly like, games and music. Their hobbies would be playing games or and intrument (mainly guitar). They would be into clothing such a 'No Fear' and 'Animale'. My target audience will be into going out with friends to cinemas or just generally hanging out.

Evaluation:Another magazine

Kerrang! is a rock music magazine. The magazines name is onomatopoeic and it refers to the sound made when playing a power chord on an electric guitar
The mast head 'KERRANG!' is situated at the very top of the magazine cover, the black and white monochromatic contrasting colours stand out against each other therefore it would be eye-catching against other magazines on a shop stand, the image has the appearance and effect of cracked glass therefore adding to it's rock theme.

What my magazine does similarly is that Minim is a name of a note. Also the genre of music is the same 'Rock'. The colours are completely different, main are more in your face, it does not blend like Kerrang. Also my magazine lacks advertisement and plus adds of what is inside the magazine. I also feel the front page image needs more work, it lacks effects and is too large. It takes up to much room and does not allow any rule of thirds.
